Liberty Hall Restoration Timeline

Phase 1:  2006-2007. Completed.

  • Replacement of the roof

  • Securing of foundation

  • Removal of ornately carved belvedere tower for restoration

  • Resolving of site and drainage problems, raccoon abatement.  

 

Phase 2:  2008-2009.   Completed

  • Rebuilding and reinstallation of the belvedere

  • Restoration of historic mansard cupola and weather vane

  • Restoration of three of the building’s facades (east, south and north)

  • Replacement of damaged clapboards

  • Restoration of upper floor windows

  • Restoration decorative trim

  • Repainting of entire building.

 

Phase 3.  2018 –2023 in process

 

Part 1. 2018-2019, completed

  • Remove and restore existing windows

  • Replicate window at existing door opening and provide temporary protection in openings

  • Reinstallation of 4 rear façade windows

 

Part 2: 2020-2021, completed

  • Demolition of old outhouse

  • Structural repairs at base of rear wall

  • Repair and replacement of rotted clapboards

  • Repair and replacement of decorative trim

  • Painting of rear façade

 

Part 3: 2023, awaiting funds

  • Demolition interior chimney

  • Construction of door and ramp from theater level of building to bank behind

  • Clearing of bank behind building for emergency egress

 

 

Phase 4.   Full Interior Restoration. TBD Post Covid 19

Project Name: Completing Phase 3, creation of Emergency Egress

We are currently seeking funds to complete the last part of Phase 3 and Phase 4 of the restoration process.  This work involves demolishing the interior chimney at the back of the theater to make way for emergency egress to the bank behind Liberty Hall.   Once this is completed, we will move to the full interior restoration of the building.  This will include:  installation septic system, utilities, walls and ceiling repair, painting, ADA access, kitchen, community rooms etc
